About
Michigan Cat Rescue is a volunteer-run, foster-based, no-kill cat rescue founded in 2003. The organization does not operate a traditional shelter; rescued cats live in foster homes where they receive individual care, socialization and a safe place to stay until permanent homes are found. Cats receive necessary veterinary care and are fully vetted before adoption. Michigan Cat Rescue is 100% donation-based and relies on volunteers and community support to provide medical care, food, supplies and other necessities for the cats in its care. Since its founding, the rescue has helped save and rehome thousands of cats.

About
Detroit Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) is a volunteer-driven, no-kill rescue founded in 2011 that operates a 25-acre rescue farm in Macomb County. DAWG helps domestic animals, farm animals and wildlife. Its facility includes kennels, a heated barn and specialized wildlife rehabilitation enclosures. The organization holds Michigan and federal wildlife permits and the Michigan DNR lists DAWG for rehabilitation of mammals and non-migratory birds. DAWG rescues hundreds of animals each year, cares for many injured and orphaned fawns. Some animals that cannot safely be released or adopted remain as long-term or permanent residents when permitted. Michigan regulations generally require rehabilitated fawns to be released by October 1 unless special DNR authorization is granted. DAWG relies heavily on volunteers and states that donations go directly toward animal care.
